Building technology The potential to limit energy consumption in housing stock is enormous. Energy consumption in new buildings has been reduced by over 80% over the past 40-50 years at increased comfort! Proven products and technologies in the following areas are used to achieve these improvements: - Insulation, including windows and doors - Heating, ventilation and air conditioning - Building automation and control Today, increasing energy costs are the driving force toward energy-efficient buildings. In addition, regulatory demands placed on building quality are on the rise. The renovation market is especially sensitive to these changes.

Industry and transportation Numerous industrial processes consume large amounts of energy from production lines operating 24/7. It makes sense financially to invest in more efficient and expensive plants as the price of energy and raw materials rise. Over the lifecycle, savings are often several times the increased investments. We focus on the following topics: - Motors, drives, pumps - Controls, automation, engineering - Rail technology, light weight vehicle construction We find that the state is preparing here as well to reduce energy consumption within industry through targeted measures. Transparency requirements relating to energy consumption are currently being tightened within the EU (Eco Design Directives). |

UtilitiesIncreased energy efficiency often results in greater power consumption. For example, heat pumps, while saving up to 80% in energy, actually increase demand since they require electricity. Hydroelectric power plants or pumped storage hydroelectric plants are becoming increasingly important as a supplemental source for wind power generation by acting as energy cache for stochastic wind power fluctuations. The power supply sector is reporting structural growth which is also of interest to us. We focus on the following topics: - Hydroelectric power - Power transmission and distribution - Power cache, especially pumped storage hydroelectric power plants |
